Saraswati
also known as Sharada, Vagdevi, Veenapani and Bharati
Saraswati is turned to for learning, clarity of speech, and success in study and the arts. Many honour the Goddess on Fridays, and above all on Vasant Panchami — traditions to lean on, never rules.
mantras for Saraswati

the story tradition tells
On Vasant Panchami, the first stirring of spring, devotees dress in yellow, place books and instruments at her feet, and children are given their first letters in the Vidyarambham rite. Tradition holds that the goddess of the veena and the white lotus grants vak — the power of true speech — to a quiet, disciplined mind.
if you keep a vrat
Those who keep her day with a fast traditionally break it in the evening with yellow-hued sattvic food — kesar rice, fruit. A page studied with full attention honours her just as well.
meet Saraswati every morning
In the Sankalp app, your morning can open with a darshan of the deity you choose — a painterly portrait, a mantra, a moment before the feed. Tradition suggests; you decide.
